Description
I stood next to my accuser, Officer Croucher, and stated my case to Magistrate Acosta-Castriz, based on the officer's lack of evidence (no radar). I lost. Three years later, June 2016, I was approaching my home when a traffic policeman who was crouched on the swaie of my house jumped into the road and ordered me to pull over. It was Officer Croucher. It was hot. I got out of the car to wait while he ticketed another motorist. Croucher yelled "GET BACK IN THE CAR!". He had a badge and a gun. I obeyed. He scribbled the ticket. No, he did not have radar, but he did have a non-reproducible sound device in his car that had alerted him of my approximate speed of 39 mph in the 25 mph zone. I reported the incident to the Village of Palm Springs' finest, Assist. Police Chief Perez and City Manager Richard Reade. They were apologetic about the officer's behavior. I contacted the local newspapers. thinking that law enforcement abuse of the elderly (moi) in a state heavy with retirees would interest them. Wrong! As my voice is my art, I trust that this image speaks to you. Thanks for listening.
