A Life in Light and Shadow Bob Orsillo has always been drawn to the power of light and shadow. This fascination manifested in a dual pursuit: the meticulous precision of photography and the grand storytelling of cinematography. As both a photographer and a cinematographer, Bob has carved a unique path in the artistic world. Orsillo's journey began with photography, capturing still moments that resonated with a deeper truth. He developed a keen eye for composition, using light and shadow to evoke emotions and tell stories within a single frame. This foundation in photography informs his work as a cinematographer, where he orchestrates moving landscapes of light and shadow to bring narratives to life on the screen. As a cinematographer,...

As always, Bob, superb creativity! Definitely keeps us in our place and gives us all food for thought! BTW, is the misspelling of Coroner and the bottom part of the black humor? Just wondering! Blessings for a long life and continued creativity for you! Suzanne fav

Dear Bob, I absolutely love it. LOL. I couldn't stop laughing-my first thought was how could I do La Shai like that. lol You are a master and your sense of humor is uncanny. I want to be just like you when I grow up.

Well Bob...this is a hint of "black humour"....truly. The feet are great...the texture is great but what is really greater is the label. Is giving the "corpse" a kind of "royalty treatment"...even the ticket itself might me humiliating...but does a corpse feel humiliated, anyway? it seems rather a "gift card" left there for the physician in turn of doing on "you"....the cleanest of the autopsies. Of course...a dream, but never a bad one. Specially because you can tell it to others afterwords, with a gleaming look in your eyes.I like it very, very much. Rosa
Bob Orsillo replied:
Rosa, thank you so very much! :)

P.s. Is it possible to change the name on the picture? And so it could be my self portrait as well. You are great! I don't emphasize again. It is so. That's a fact.
Zsuzsa Balla
Dear Bob, I came to this work of you bcs I wished to see: who are you? (As you change yr avatar very often....) Bummmm, I found this Self Portrait. Thinking it over (yr changes of avatar and this Self portait) it came to my mind the meaning maybe (?) that you are a real artist. Not the face or something like this is important for you but the expression, the feeling, the emotion and something like these deep human things which are missing from people-of-today. Maybe I am wrong, but I think, I will not see any more at yr avatar, as it has no meaning. Your works and deep expressions are you. Am I right? Or it is a crazy thinking of me abt your works and abt you as an artist, a big artist - in the deepest meaning of this word. This picture could be a horror but it isn't - I think. You are great! If somebody makes such a self portrait, yes, he has from one side a big humor - but not only towards himself but towards the whole word. On the other side, once more: you are a big artist. I began to understand why.
Bob Orsillo replied:
Thank you very much my friend. You are very insightful, I am honored by your words :)
Susan Capuano

Rory, I got it. I can see the following printed on the inside of the card. "Sorry you lost. Remember there is honor in de-feet! " Bob, I just discovered your work. Ummmm....not sure what to say other that you are one creative man. F/V
Bob Orsillo replied:
lol Thank you Arlene!
Rory Sagner
Well it's certainly an image that provokes thought...and that is always a worthy accomplishment! I love the contrast. I do wonder what one would have printed on the inside of the greeting cards?....hopefully not "wish you were here" or "get well soon!" (guffaw!)
Bob Orsillo replied:
LOL No comment ;)
